Housed within a contemporary, dug-out basement conversion, this kitchen sits centrally within the large family space with banquette dining to one end and lounge seating/TV area to the other. We were briefed with creating a design that was of a contemporary nature, had a timeless quality and in contrast to our client’s previous flat, white gloss panel kitchen stand out as individual and of handmade craftsmanship.
The design has a semi-contemporary feel with signs of traditional construction methods that are married to clean lines and minimal detailing of contemporary furniture. Rhythm is the key descriptor for this design, ensuring the frames, panels and proportions are equal sizes and shapes.
An Everhot range cooker provides all the cooking requirements in this design, aiding to keep the run of furniture looking clean and sleek. We have specified concealed extraction to the same effect. Opposite the cooking/sink run we have designed an island with floating legs and an open-end frame to create a breakfast bar.
